FullTilt Poker.com hosted its flagship tournament this weekend, the Sunday $750k Guarantee, and as if the fates had chosen his nickname for him, “THE_GOLDMINE” routed an enormous field to claim the largest prize of $147,912.
4,188 participants took to the virtual felts to battle it out for their share of the guarantee, boosted to $837,600 by excessive entries. Hour after four, players fell to the way side as the most skilled competitors whittled their way to the final table.
Eventually it came down to “THE GOLDMINE”, “daPHUNNIEman” and “Fetus”, whose 3rd place elimination brought about heads-up game play. In the end, it would be “THE GOLDMINE” snagging the final chips from 2nd place finisher ($89,539) “daPHUNNIEman”. THE_GOLDMINE earned $147,912 for the exceptional victory.
Lucrative tournament cashes are nothing new to the Australian online poker player. “THE GOLDMINE” finished 3rd in Event #6 of the 11th Full Tilt Online Poker Series last month, pocketing $44,800. He’s also earned more than $50,000 combined in two large online poker tournaments at PokerStars.com and UltimateBet in the last few months.
